The Twilight Zone review
Posted : 1 year, 7 months ago on 8 April 2023 10:58 (A review of The Twilight Zone)Not bad. There's some good stories but almost all of them are too long. They have a lot of padding. If these episodes were all a half-hour i would've rated it higher.

The Ambulance review
Posted : 1 year, 7 months ago on 4 April 2023 06:39 (A review of The Ambulance)Probably the best performances in a Larry Cohen film. Sure some of the supporting acting sucks but Eric Roberts, James Earl Jones, Megan Gallagher, Janine Turner, A pre-Babylon 5 Michael O'Hare and Eric Braeden are good in their roles.

Perfect Strangers review
Posted : 1 year, 7 months ago on 2 April 2023 11:13 (A review of Perfect Strangers)Not a good movie. terrible acting which is a common flaw in Larry Cohen's movies, I hated Stephen Lack's acting in Scanners but he gives the only good performance in this which shows how low the caliber of acting is in this. Ann Magnuson is usually good but she's stuck here playing a offensive caricature. A lame-ass script that causes you to have zero attachment to any of the characters made me hate this movie.

Special Effects (1984) review
Posted : 1 year, 7 months ago on 2 April 2023 11:00 (A review of Special Effects (1984))Not really a fan of Larry Cohen's work. Like most of Cohen's movies the acting is horrible even from Eric Bogosian who's an actor i usually like.

Tales from the Hood 2 review
Posted : 1 year, 7 months ago on 2 April 2023 08:17 (A review of Tales from the Hood 2)Not as great as the first film. Suffers from weaker acting, directing and writing compared to the first. Clarence Williams III is missed but Keith David does great with what he has to work with. The monster in the first story is probably the most ridiculous thing i've ever seen in a horror movie. The thing looks like an evil Mr. Bill. The last story is the best one yet it's ruined by the governor candidate looking like Larry Bird wearing a Don Johnson from Django Unchained halloween costume.

Mary, Queen of Scots review
Posted : 1 year, 7 months ago on 2 April 2023 05:20 (A review of Mary, Queen of Scots)Great film with some nice locations and brilliant acting. Much better than the dogshit woke revisionist history remake that was made 46 years after this one.

Taboo review
Posted : 1 year, 7 months ago on 1 April 2023 09:50 (A review of Taboo)Movie goes nowhere with no likeable characters at all. This is a plot that could barely work as a 30-minute episode of an anthology series. But as an 80-minute film it's unbearable.
And January Jones's acting is fucking horrible.

Femme Fatales review
Posted : 1 year, 8 months ago on 27 March 2023 04:02 (A review of Femme Fatales)A friend who knows i'm a fan of anthology shows gave me a copy of both seasons on DVD. Reading the cast and director list i assumed this was going to be a regular show and not the softcore porn trash it ended up being. I like dramas and erotica but i don't like them to be mixed together. Or at least not as bad as this.
The directing and writing is a joke. The acting (even from actors like Eric Roberts, Casper Van Dien, Paul Mazursky (seeing him in the first episode was so sad. He did a lot of good movies and this was the worst thing he ever did), Jeff Fahey and Vivica A. Fox) is horrible with not a single good performance in the entire series.

Creepshow review
Posted : 1 year, 8 months ago on 26 March 2023 10:39 (A review of Creepshow)Some great stories in this. Love the old 80's low budget horror anthology tv vibe this has similar to Monsters and Tales from the Darkside.

Marfa Girl review
Posted : 1 year, 8 months ago on 26 March 2023 03:32 (A review of Marfa Girl)Probably the worst movie Larry Clark ever directed.
The acting is horrible. I miss when Clark still used professional actors in his work.
